Project Completed September 2026
Brackenfern Advisory is a firm of friendly local accountants with offices in Stroud and Bristol, run by qualified accountants Paul Day and Jess Griffiths. Their promise is right there in the tagline: finance, made wonderfully simple. No jargon, no stuffiness — just clear, dependable advice for individuals and businesses alike.
The service runs deep: self-assessment and personal tax planning for individuals, and everything a growing business needs — bookkeeping, accounts, VAT, payroll, corporation tax, cash flow forecasting and start-up advice — with hands-on support across QuickBooks, Sage and Xero. Small enough to care, experienced enough to deliver.
There was just one thing missing: a website. As a new firm, Brackenfern had no online presence at all — and in a profession built on trust, that’s a hard way to win your first clients.
Most of our website projects start with something to replace. Brackenfern started with nothing — a brand-new firm with experienced people, a full service list and a lovely, human way of working, but no website to prove any of it. When a prospective client Googled them and found nothing, all that credibility was invisible.
The brief: build Brackenfern a first website that earns trust from day one — warm and personal like the firm itself, professional enough to reassure, and simple enough that choosing an accountant stops feeling like a chore. And to finish the job, a matching set of branded email signatures so every message the team sends looks the part too.
Starting from nothing is a different kind of project. With no old site to react against, we began with the firm itself — Paul and Jess’s way of working, the “finance, made wonderfully simple” promise, and the two audiences the site had to serve. From there we mapped the structure, wrote the story, and designed a site around one goal: making a brand-new firm feel like the safe, friendly choice it genuinely is.
We built the whole thing in WordPress with Elementor, so every section is crafted to fit the brand rather than forced into an off-the-shelf theme. Clean layouts, warm and jargon-free copy, clear service pages for individuals and businesses, trust signals where they count, and simple, friendly calls to action throughout. Then we finished the job beyond the website — designing branded email signatures so every message the team sends carries the same professional polish.
The result is a first website that punches well above the firm’s age — an online home that makes Brackenfern look as established, capable and likeable as they really are.
