Hookway is a multi-disciplinary firm of chartered surveyors and building consultants based in Bristol, specialising in education and housing. From building surveys and project management to cost consultancy, Principal Designer duties and sustainability advice, they help clients get complex property decisions right — with clear, proportionate advice rather than jargon.
The results speak for themselves: RICS-regulated expertise, Exor and Safecontractor accreditation, and a bid writing service — on a no win, no fee basis — that has secured more than £100m in funding for schools and education projects. Serious credentials, delivered by a team that’s genuinely easy to work with.
Their old website just wasn’t telling that story. A practice this capable deserved an online home that proved it.
Hookway’s old website had fallen behind the practice. It looked dated, buried their specialisms, and didn’t reflect the calibre of work the team delivers for schools, housing providers and commercial clients. In professional services, credibility is everything — and the old site was quietly undermining it before a conversation ever started.
The brief was simple: give Hookway a website as sharp and dependable as the advice they give — one that shows the education and housing specialism clearly, puts the £100m funding track record front and centre, and makes it easy for the right clients to get in touch.
We started from a blank page — not a template. Working closely with the Hookway team, we mapped out everything the old site was failing to say: the specialisms, the services, the funding wins, the accreditations that set the practice apart. Then we designed a site around one goal — making it obvious, within seconds, that this is a consultancy you can trust with a complex project.
We built the whole thing in WordPress with Elementor, so every section is crafted to fit the brand rather than forced into an off-the-shelf theme. Clean layouts, plain-English copy, clear service and sector pages, trust signals where they count, and clear calls to action throughout — all fast, fully responsive and easy for the team to keep updated.
The result is a website that finally matches the quality of the advice behind it — a sharper online home that works as hard as the practice does.
